Why are we?

The history of "Ukrpivdendiprovodhosp" institute began on April 10, 1949.

The main direction of institute's activities is providing of water economy complex with project-estimate documentation. Reforms in the agroindustrial complex require a new look at water delivering, water distribution, use of water economy in general. Priorities in development of land-reclamation and water economy have changed.

The emphasis is placed not on expansion of the irrigated areas, but first of all on the effective use of already existent ones The compact irrigated areas with application of the systems of drip irrigation, irrigation equipment of low consumption replace the large irrigation arrays.

That is why the task of the institute is to use maximally the existent potential in the developments, to adapt it to the modern terms of menage with the least charges. Providing of population with high-quality drinking-water is rather a sharp problem of the region.In the region the group water pipelines are built, however a lot still is needed to be done.

Presence of such sources of water, as the Danube and the Dniester, allows to solve the problem of high-quality water providing both of the irrigated agriculture, and economic-drinking water-supply.

And here the designers of the institute play the most important part in the determination of optimal solutions after the water-supply charts of the region.

Among many questions of water economy complex ecological safety of the region is a main one. The institute will further on solve the problem of liquidation of settlements' underflooding, conduct anti-flood measures, prevention of contamination of the Danube lakes, land-slide preventive and bank protecting measures, determinations of water protected areas, monitoring researches of influencing of the objects on environment.

Solving the problem of ecology at the complex planning of objects, the institute closely cooperates with international organizations and neighbouring countries.

At that a lot of technical problems and those of investment character are successfully solved. That is why the task of the institute's specialists is in search and suggestion of solutions of ecological reliability increase both of existent and erected objects, qualitative estimation of their influence on environment. And here the institute is ready to cooperate with all interested parties in solution of ecological problems of the region.
