About the Institute

Our goal is to make the most of the systems already built and adapt them to today’s economic conditions at the lowest possible cost. This matters especially in southern Ukraine, where water determines both the harvest and the quality of life in villages and towns.

Providing people with quality drinking water remains a pressing problem for the region. Group water supply systems have already been built, but much work remains, and the institute’s engineers play a key role in choosing the best solutions within regional water supply schemes.

Of all the issues facing the water sector, the region’s environmental safety is our top priority. We continue to work on eliminating groundwater flooding in settlements, flood control, preventing pollution of the Danube lakes, landslide prevention and bank protection, and defining water protection zones, and we also study the environmental impact of facilities.

In addressing environmental issues as part of integrated facility planning, the institute works closely with international organizations and neighbouring countries. We look for solutions that improve the environmental reliability of both existing and new facilities, and we are open to cooperation with everyone who cares about the region’s environmental challenges.
